Money Train 2 is a high-volatility online slot from Relax Gaming and the sequel to the hugely popular original Money Train.

It keeps the Wild West setting and 5×4 reel layout of the first game while significantly expanding the Money Cart Bonus and increasing the maximum win to an impressive 50,000x the bet.

This time, the Western theme has been given a steampunk makeover. The action takes place aboard a mechanical-looking train packed with pipes, gears and machinery, while the characters have also been redesigned to fit the darker, more futuristic setting.

Money Train 2 uses 5 reels, 4 rows and 40 fixed paylines. The low-paying symbols are traditional card suits, while the premium symbols feature several Western characters, including the Payer, Sniper, Collector and Necromancer. The skull with exhaust pipes acts as the Wild and substitutes for regular paying symbols.

One of the biggest improvements over the original is the addition of a Respins feature in the base game. Landing two Scatters can trigger respins with a growing multiplier, giving players something extra to chase while waiting for the main Money Cart Bonus.

The real attraction remains the bonus round, however. Money Train 2 introduces a much larger collection of special symbols, including Persistent modifiers, Snipers, Necromancers and Reset Plus symbols. The bonus grid can even expand by two additional reels.

Game Features

Money Train 2 expands considerably on the mechanics of its predecessor. The main features include Respins, Wilds, the Money Cart Bonus, expanding reels and 11 different special bonus symbols.

Wild Symbol

The exhaust-pipe skull acts as the Wild symbol. It substitutes for regular paying symbols to help create winning combinations across the game’s 40 pay-lines.

The Wild also carries the same payout value as the highest-paying Necromancer symbol, awarding up to 20x the bet when five land across a payline.

Respins Feature

The Respins feature is one of the main additions to Money Train 2’s base game. Landing two Scatter symbols triggers the feature. Each Scatter reveals a multiplier value, and these values are added together before a respin takes place. Respins continue until a winning combination lands.

Every non-winning respin increases the accumulated multiplier by +1. Once a winning combination finally appears, the complete multiplier is applied to the win. This creates an unusual situation where additional losing respins can actually improve the eventual payout.

Money Cart Bonus

Landing 3 or more Scatter symbols triggers the Money Cart Bonus. The triggering Scatters become locked in position and reveal multiplier values. Players then begin with 3 spins.

Whenever a new multiplier or special symbol lands, it remains locked and the spin counter resets to three. The feature continues until three consecutive spins fail to add another qualifying symbol.

All multiplier values contribute towards the final bonus payout, while several special symbols can dramatically increase the values already present.

Bonus Symbol

A standard Bonus symbol reveals a multiplier worth between 1x and 10x the bet. Its value is added to the overall Money Cart Bonus payout.

Golden Bonus Symbol

The Golden Bonus symbol is a more valuable version of the standard Bonus symbol. It reveals a multiplier ranging from 20x to 200x the bet.

Payer

The Payer reveals its own multiplier and then adds that value to all other visible multiplier symbols. The more symbols already present on the grid, the more useful a Payer can become.

Collector

The Collector adds the values of all other visible symbols to its own multiplier. Landing Collectors later in the bonus can therefore produce considerably larger values when the grid has already filled with multipliers.

Collector/Payer

The Collector/Payer combines both mechanics. First, it collects the sum of the other visible multipliers and adds it to its own value. It then takes its newly increased value and adds it to the other visible symbols. This makes the Collector/Payer one of the more powerful modifiers available during the feature.

Sniper

The Sniper randomly targets between 3 and 8 bonus symbols and doubles their multiplier values. The same symbol can be targeted more than once, meaning a multiplier may potentially be doubled repeatedly.

Necromancer

The Necromancer reactivates between 1 and 6 previously used special symbols. It can reactivate symbols such as the Payer, Collector, Collector/Payer or Sniper, allowing their abilities to take effect again. This can create powerful combinations when several valuable modifiers are already on the grid.

Reset Plus

The Reset Plus symbol increases the starting number of spins by one.

For example, landing one Reset Plus changes the reset value from three spins to four spins. This gives players additional opportunities to land new symbols before the Money Cart Bonus ends.

Persistent Payer

The Persistent Payer repeatedly adds its multiplier value to all other eligible symbols on every subsequent spin. Landing one early in the feature can be particularly useful because its effect continues for the remainder of the bonus.

Persistent Sniper

The Persistent Sniper targets and doubles the values of between 3 and 8 symbols on every following spin. Repeated activations can lead to rapidly increasing multiplier values.

Persistent Collector

The Persistent Collector collects the other visible multiplier values and adds them to its own value on every subsequent spin. As more symbols land, its value can continue to grow throughout the bonus.

Expanding Reels

Money Train 2 can increase the size of its bonus grid. Whenever an entire reel is filled with symbols, an additional reel is unlocked.
