Ares: The Battle for Troy Slot Review – Demo, RTP & Features

Ares: The Battle for Troy is a video slot machine from Real Time Gaming (RTG), and as you’ll see from this slot review, the game is a ton going on, and if you’re looking to enjoy an exciting, fast-paced slot that packs a fair number of decent bonuses and features.

As you can probably tell from the name, Ares: The Battle for Troy is themed all around Ancient Greece, and Ares – if you didn’t already know – is the God of war. He’s a nasty, violent God – and you’ll be doing your best to protect the Greek Kingdom from his powers… start spinning to find out how!

Now, unlike most of RTG’s Slots, Ares: The Battle for Troy doesn’t use a conventional pay-line structure, instead opting to use a 243 ways to win format. This means, simply, that you need to land a symbol on each adjacent reel to secure a win – there are no pay-lines to look out for or worry about, which makes for entertaining gameplay.

Symbols on the reels are varied, and you’ll see playing card values, including 10, jack, queen, king, and ace depicting the lower-paying symbols, while various Greek Gods and battle weapons represent the game’s higher-paying symbols.

Game Features

The scatter symbol within Ares: The Battle for Troy is a Trojan Horse, and if you manage to land 3, 4, or 5 of the scatter symbols anywhere in view, you’ll trigger the main free spins bonus.

You then get to pick from several shields on your screen, and the shields you pick reveal the number of free spins you’ll be awarded, alongside various multipliers. You get three picks for landing 3 scatter symbols while landing 4 and 5 will award you with 4 and 5 picks, respectively.

Unfortunately, it’s not possible to re-trigger the free spins during the bonus, but this is largely down to the fact that it’s possible to win from the initial free spins and thanks to the fact that the game is built using 243 ways to win format, you don’t need to hit much to land some pretty big, tasty wins!
