After Dark Slot Review – Demo, RTP & Features

S4P After Dark takes a different approach to the usual casino slot formula, replacing treasure chests and ancient temples with luxury yachts, expensive watches, sports cars and a distinctly late-night atmosphere.

Developed by S4P Games, it’s a five-reel slot that keeps its regular gameplay relatively simple before introducing a separate set of symbols and mechanics during Free Spins.

The game uses a 5×3 layout with 20 fixed paylines, accepting bets from 0.20 to 10.00 virtual credits. Its simulated base-game RTP is 93.48%, although this figure does not include Free Spins returns.

Regular spins feature playing-card symbols alongside Cocktail Glasses, Red 7s, Cash and Crowns, with a standard Wild helping complete winning combinations.

Most of After Dark’s personality emerges when the Moon Scatters activate Free Spins. The familiar symbols disappear, replaced by luxury-themed alternatives with their own paytable. Random Wild Reels can then turn up to three complete reels into Diamond Wilds, while a progressive multiplier increases after winning spins, potentially reaching x5.

The separation between regular gameplay and the bonus is quite pronounced. The base game offers little in the way of surprises, but the Free Spins round is more ambitious, particularly when several Wild reels appear after the multiplier has already increased. It’s a feature-driven design that doesn’t pretend otherwise.

Game Features

Five Reels and 20 Fixed Paylines

S4P After Dark follows a traditional five-reel, three-row format with 20 fixed paylines. Winning combinations consist of three or more matching symbols, beginning on the leftmost reel.

The base-game paytable includes 10, J, Q, K and A, together with Cocktail Glass, Red 7, Cash and Crown symbols.

Crowns are the most valuable regular symbol, awarding 32x the total bet for five matching symbols on a payline. Cash symbols offer up to 28x, while Red 7s pay up to 24x.

A standard Wild substitutes for regular paying symbols. Unlike the Diamond Wilds introduced during Free Spins, this symbol does not expand or cover entire reels. The base game has no cascading wins or progressive multiplier mechanic. Its principal purpose, beyond ordinary payline payouts, is to provide opportunities to trigger the bonus.

Moon Scatter Free Spins

Moon Scatters unlock the main After Dark feature, with the number of awarded Free Spins depending on the triggering combination.

The engine uses a dedicated bonus-trigger mechanism configured at approximately one trigger per 300 paid spins. This is a probability setting, not a fixed interval.

Free Spins cannot be retriggered. The initial Scatter combination determines the total number of spins available, and no additional spins are awarded during the feature.

That makes four- and five-Scatter triggers particularly attractive, since the extra spins offer more opportunities for Random Wild Reels and multiplier progression.

Premium Symbols During Free Spins

Free Spins introduce a separate set of six paying symbols, replacing the regular base-game selection. These are Champagne, S4P Chip, Luxury Watch, Diamond Ring, Sports Car and Luxury Yacht.

The Yacht occupies the top position in the premium paytable, offering 150x the total bet for five matching symbols on a payline before the feature multiplier. Sports Cars follow at 100x, with Diamond Rings paying up to 70x.

This change in symbol selection gives the bonus a different identity rather than simply increasing the values of the regular symbols. It also means that the premium paytable can generate substantially larger individual line payouts.

Random Wild Reels

Random Wild Reels are the central attraction of After Dark’s bonus. On every Free Spin, there is a 1-in-8 chance of activating the mechanic. When triggered, one, two or three randomly selected reels become completely filled with Diamond Wilds.

These Diamond symbols substitute for premium paying symbols, potentially connecting combinations across several paylines simultaneously.

The strongest situations arise when multiple reels become Wild, especially when the remaining positions contain higher-paying premium symbols. However, even three Wild reels don’t guarantee the same payout every time, since the final result depends on the entire symbol arrangement.

Random Wild Reels appear exclusively during Free Spins. The regular base-game Wild remains a separate, non-expanding symbol.

Progressive Multiplier Up to x5

Every Free Spins round begins with an x1 multiplier. After each winning Free Spin, the multiplier increases by one level for the following spin, progressing through x2, x3 and x4 until it reaches the maximum of x5.

Losing spins do not reduce or reset the multiplier. Once x5 has been reached, it remains active for the rest of the feature.

This creates a useful progression mechanic without making the bonus unnecessarily complicated. Several early winning spins can move the multiplier to a higher level, leaving the remaining spins with greater payout potential.

The limitation is that the feature has a fixed duration. A bonus that starts slowly may finish before the multiplier reaches x5.

Betting Range and RTP

S4P After Dark offers ten total-bet settings, ranging from 0.20 to 10.00 virtual credits per spin. The game has a 93.48% simulated base-game RTP, based on a one-million-spin test. This figure excludes the returns generated by Free Spins and should not be interpreted as the game’s combined theoretical RTP.

S4P After Dark is a demo slot using virtual credits. It is not a real-money gambling product, and winnings cannot be withdrawn.
