If you played the early Thunderstruck video slot, you likely already know what to expect from Microgaming’s follow-up Thunderstruck II.

While there are quite a few differences between the two games, the general theme and ethos remain similar, and you will see exactly what the game’s about, within this slot.

The first difference between the two games is that the new game uses a 243 ways to win format, eradicating the need to look out for any pay-lines or anything like that.

The 243 ways to win format ensures that you only need to land one symbol on the first three, four, or five consecutive reels to secure a win – it doesn’t matter where they land!

The next change is the graphical improvements seen within the game; this is mainly delivered in the form of the symbol graphics, and you’ll also see several different symbols on the reels.

Now, the low-value ones are still traditional playing card symbols, including Ten, Jack, Queen, King, and Ace – but the higher paying ones include symbolism like Thor, Thor’s Hammer, a Viking Longship, and the three other Nordic Gods; Valkyrie, Odin, and Loki.

Game Features

There are a couple of features you can expect to see inside Thunderstruck II, and the first is called the wild storm bonus.

This is a randomly-triggered bonus and can appear on any spin during the main base game. When it triggers, you’ll see between one and five reels turned into wild reels, ensuring big win potential!

Now, the main bonus round is triggered by landing three, four, or five of the scatter symbols anywhere in view, and once you do so, you’ll enter the Great Hall of Spin.

This has four bonuses, which are unlocked the more you play – and the first bonus, the Valkyrie free spins – gives you 10 free spins, all subject to a 5X multiplier.

Next is the Odin Spins, which see a random wild spread from the third reel across the screen, and the third bonus round is the Odin bonus round, which sees wild multipliers added to the reels.

The fourth and final bonus is a rolling reels feature, and if you pick this option, you’ll find that each time you win, the symbols involved disappear, with new symbols dropping down to take their place.
