Thunderstruck is one of the most popular slots released from Microgaming, and while it’s been slightly overshadowed by the follow-up game Thunderstruck II, the original remains a popular choice for players, and for many, it’s become somewhat of a go-too slot!

The first thing you’ll notice about Thunderstruck is that the game operates using a cartoon-like manner, and this is shown mainly through the symbols found on the reels.

For example, the lower-paying symbols are all traditional playing card symbols, including Ten, Jack, Queen, King, and Ace – nothing too special there.

The game-specific symbols are all designed to look in line with the Norse theme found in the rest of the game, and this includes Thor’s House, Thor’s Hammer, a Helmet, a Mighty Warrior, and there’s also a wild symbol, which takes the form of Thor himself.

You’ll also notice a Ram on the reels, and this is the game’s scatter symbol, which we’ll cover in the following section.

Game Features

There’s just one feature to be found within Thunderstruck, triggered by landing three, four, or five of the scatter symbols anywhere in view. Once you manage, you’ll be awarded 15 free spins, which begin to play out immediately.

During the free spins, there’s not a whole lot going on – but something you will notice is that any wins you manage to make during the free spins round are subject to a 3X multiplier – and this – of course – gives you a much better chance of hitting a big win and coming away from the free spins bonus with a tidy profit!
