Heart of Cleopatra Slot Review – Demo, RTP & Features

If you know Pragmatic Play studios, you know they love mostly two things: marked spots and Ancient Egypt. This time, they’ve combined both in their new online slot game, Heart of Cleopatra.

The marked spots feature was a hit in Sugar Rush and its sequel, Sugar Rush Xmas, so they figured it would work well here too.

Pragmatic Play has made some changes to this feature; now, instead of doubling multipliers affecting the winning combinations, they’re applied to random cash prizes.

As far as the interface goes, Heart of Cleopatra is a cluster paying slot game with a large 7×7 grid, surrounded by golden bird statues and trimmed with gold. The game is set in a room lit by burning braziers, with a floor covered in coins and adorned with statues and hieroglyphics.

Cleopatra herself doesn’t make many appearances, except on the wild symbol. The theme isn’t groundbreaking, as it’s been done many times before, but the game looks pretty good for its style.

Heart of Cleopatra is a highly volatile slot game with a default RTP of 96.48% for regular spins, which can be between $0.20 to $240, and in case you buy free ones, the RTP raises to 96.5%, which is only a slight increase.

When you win, the symbols in the winning clusters disappear, creating holes on the reels. New symbols then drop down to fill these spaces, possibly leading to another win. This process continues until no new wins appear.

To form a winning combination, you’ll need 5 or more identical symbols, either horizontally or vertically aligned next to each other. There are 7 regular pay symbols in this slot game:

• Winged Ankhs
• Lotus flowers
• The Eye of Horus
• Jackals
• Cats
• Birds
• Scarabs

A regular winning combination of 5 symbols will reward you with only 0.2x to 1x your initial bet, while landing a combo of 15 matching symbols pays out 20x to 150x, which is an insane jump in terms of value.

Just like in many other slot games, Heart of Cleopatra contains wilds that can be used to replace any other symbols except scatters.

Heart of Cleopatra Game Details

The main feature in Heart of Cleopatra is the Marked Positions, which lead to multipliers that increase the money values assigned to them. You can find these marked spots in both the base game and the free spins, which can also be purchased.

Money Spots Feature

When a cluster containing at least one wild symbol explodes, a random number of spots within the cluster become Money Spots. These spots start with a multiplier of x1, while the spot where the wild symbol exploded starts with x2.

Each time another cluster explodes over them, the multipliers double, up to a maximum of x1,024. At the end of the tumble sequence, each marked Money Spot gets a random money value between 0.1x and 10x, which is then multiplied by its multiplier. In the base game, all Money Spots are cleared for the next spin.

Free Spins

The great thing about Heart of Cleopatra is its free spins feature – you can get as many as 10/20/15/30 free spins if you land 3/4/5/6 or 7 scatter symbols. While you’re in the free spins round, Money Spots and their multipliers remain there until the end of the feature, which is a nice addition by the studio.

Landing another round of scatters while the feature is active will land you another round of free spins, which lasts until all of your spins have been used. After it’s all said and done, the multipliers will apply to randomly assigned values of your Money Spots.

Buy Free Spins

You can buy the free spins round from the base game for 100 times your bet, which will trigger a spin landing 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 scatters.
