Thunderstruck Wild Lightning sees Stormcraft Studios and Microgaming team up again. But they’re not doing so to create any old slot.

They’ve developed Thunderstruck Wild Lightning to pay homage to the iconic Thunderstruck slot, with it being eleven years since Microgaming initially released the game.

So, anyone who is familiar with Thunderstruck, they should kind of know what to expect from Thunderstruck Wild Lightning.

It is, of course, a slot that carries the age-old Norse mythology theme, which is a big hit with players, and one of the reasons why many will opt to spin the five reels of this title.

Thor is the main character in this slot, as you will expect, and yes, his hammer is in tow. Visually, the game does pay homage to the Thunderstruck titles that have gone before, and the same style with the graphics and layout is in use, with a simple but effective approach to how they choose to go.

And, unlike many other slots, there’s a bit of a storyline in this game, as Thor is taking on a quest to collect the World Stones that have been lost.

There are distant realms to explore in the hunt for the lost stones, of which there are a few of them to retrieve. And, to add to the journey into the distant realms, players have five hard rock tracks to choose from to listen to as the reels spin.

Game Features

There are ten bonus features in total in Thunderstruck Wild Lightning, so there is plenty for players to get their teeth stuck into. Thor is the wild, and when it lands in the base game, it will come with a multiplier of up to 5x attached, and it can appear stacked too.

The flaming orb is the Thunderball icon, and six or more are needed to trigger the Link&Win feature. The Thunderball symbols in view on triggering lock into position with three respins awarded for playing through on a new set of reels that feature blank spaces and Thunderball icons.

More rows are unlockable, which can lead to more Thunderball icons, and as they come with cash values attached, the total is added up and awarded at the end of the feature.

During the Thunderball feature, it’s also possible to land one of the four fixed jackpots;

The jackpot icons appear as Thunderball symbols but are turquoise, green and yellow. To win the top prize, a full-screen of Thunderball icons is required.

Three or more hammer scatter icons are required to get the free spins round up and running, with a prize of up to 200x immediately up for grabs. There are five free spin games available, and all come with a different combination of free games and wild multipliers.

The final feature is Wild Lightning, with a wild needed on one of the three central reels in the free spins round to get started, and it can lead to up to three wild reels if Thor lands where the wilds did initially.
