Minted Mike is an urban street-art slot developed by Hacksaw Gaming. The game follows a cheerful graffiti artist as he travels through the city, covering plain walls with colourful designs while triggering Wilds, enhanced paylines and several levels of Free Spins.

Players familiar with Hacksaw releases such as Le Football Fan and Hand of Anubis may recognise the studio’s distinctive presentation and feature-heavy bonus structure. However, Minted Mike replaces mythology and football with a monochrome city brought to life by bright paint, stickers and neon-coloured modifiers.

Game Features

Minted Mike revolves around three coloured Sticker symbols, each linked to a separate modifier. These mechanics can add Wilds, activate enhanced paylines or introduce the Scatters needed to unlock the game’s three bonus rounds.

5×4 Reels and 26 Paylines

The game is played across five reels, four rows and 26 fixed pay-lines. Winning combinations are formed by landing at least three matching symbols on adjacent reels, beginning with the leftmost reel.

The lower-paying symbols consist of the J, Q, K and A card ranks. Premium symbols include spray cans, cassette players, trainers and dollar signs. Five matching premium symbols can award between 5x and 20x the bet, depending on the symbol involved.

Wild Symbols

The W symbol acts as the game’s Wild and can appear across all five reels. Wilds substitute for regular paying symbols to help complete winning combinations. Landing five Wilds along an active payline awards 50x the total bet. Wilds can appear naturally or be added to the grid through the Blue Sticker feature.

Sticker Symbols

Pink, Blue and Green Stickers are the main feature activators in Minted Mike. Landing a Sticker gives it a chance to trigger its associated modifier. A Sticker appearing on the grid does not always guarantee that the feature will activate.

When several Stickers trigger during the same spin, their mechanics are applied in a fixed order:

1. Pink Sticker
2. Blue Sticker
3. Green Sticker

This sequence allows multiple modifiers to combine during particularly strong spins.

Pink Sticker and Hot Lines

When the Pink Sticker activates, it paints between two and 26 paylines as Hot Lines after the original wins have been evaluated. A respin then takes place, during which no new Sticker symbols can land.

All active Hot Lines share a randomly selected multiplier ranging from x2 to x183. Any win formed along one of these highlighted paylines is multiplied by the displayed value.

The Pink Sticker can therefore turn an otherwise ordinary respin into one of the game’s strongest base-game outcomes.

Blue Sticker Wilds

The Blue Sticker activates the Spray Can modifier. Before wins are calculated, the feature adds between three and 20 Wild symbols to random positions across the grid. These additional Wilds can complete several paylines at once or create higher-value combinations using the premium symbols.

When the Blue and Pink Stickers activate together, the added Wilds may help produce wins across paylines carrying the Hot Line multiplier.

Green Sticker Roll

The Green Sticker controls access to the game’s bonus features. When activated, it adds Free Spins Scatters and possible Upgrade Scatters to the grid after regular wins have been evaluated.

Each standard Scatter represents one awarded Free Spin. Depending on the number of Scatters and Upgrade symbols added, the game can trigger one of three different bonus rounds. Unlike regular slot Scatters, these symbols only appear when the Green Sticker feature activates.

Steezy Skater Bonus

All three Sticker mechanics remain available, and Sticker symbols appear more frequently than they do during the base game.

Ink the City Bonus

Ink the City is triggered by landing at least seven Free Spins Scatters together with one Upgrade Scatter. The feature begins with between eight and 20 Free Spins and introduces progressive Hot Lines.

Whenever the Pink Sticker activates, new Hot Lines are added and remain highlighted for the rest of the bonus. The shared Hot Line multiplier also increases by a random value between x2 and x183.

Existing paylines and the accumulated multiplier remain active throughout the round, allowing the feature to become more valuable as additional Pink Stickers appear. Landing another Upgrade Scatter advances the bonus to Tag and Dash. The accumulated Hot Lines, multiplier and remaining Free Spins are carried into the upgraded round.

Tag and Dash Epic Bonus

Tag and Dash is Minted Mike’s strongest bonus round. It is triggered by landing at least six Free Spins Scatters with two Upgrade Scatters. The feature awards between eight and 20 Free Spins, depending on the total number of standard Scatters.

Tag and Dash retains the progressive Hot Lines and accumulating multiplier from Ink the City. In addition, at least one Sticker symbol lands on every Free Spin. This guarantees repeated opportunities to add Wilds, increase the Hot Line multiplier or receive extra Free Spins.

Tag and Dash cannot be purchased directly through the standard Bonus Buy menu.

FeatureSpins

Minted Mike includes two enhanced spin options in supported jurisdictions. BonusHunt FeatureSpins cost 3x the regular stake and make the bonus feature five times more likely to trigger.

Spray the System FeatureSpins cost 60x the bet. These spins guarantee one Pink Sticker, one Blue Sticker and at least one activated modifier. The enhanced spin options increase feature activity but do not guarantee a winning return.

Bonus Buy Options

Two bonus rounds can be purchased directly where Bonus Buys are permitted. The Steezy Skater feature costs 50x the selected bet, while Ink the City costs 200x the bet. The stronger purchase provides progressive Hot Lines and an increasing shared multiplier from the beginning of the bonus.

The Tag and Dash Epic Bonus is not available as a direct purchase and must be triggered or reached through an upgrade.

Our Verdict

Minted Mike slot game combines Hacksaw Gaming’s familiar monochrome visual style with a colourful set of modifiers that can dramatically change individual spins. The three Sticker mechanics work particularly well together, as Hot Lines, added Wilds and bonus Scatters can all activate from the same sequence.

The main drawback is that landing a Sticker does not guarantee its corresponding modifier. This creates additional suspense, but it can also make the gameplay feel inconsistent when several Stickers appear without producing a feature.

The bonus progression is the strongest part of the slot. Steezy Skater increases Sticker activity, Ink the City introduces permanent Hot Lines and growing multipliers, while Tag and Dash guarantees a Sticker on every spin. Being able to carry spins, multipliers and highlighted paylines into an upgraded round gives the features a clear sense of development.

Its 5,000x maximum payout is comparatively low for a Hacksaw Gaming release, but the medium volatility and 26-payline format make Minted Mike less punishing than many of the studio’s more extreme games. It is a creative and accessible slot, although players looking for enormous potential may prefer one of Hacksaw’s higher-volatility releases.
