Developed by Swintt, Book of Nibelungen is a Book of… slot based on the epic German poem The Song of the Nibelungs. Its events are loosely based on the epic written centuries ago in Middle High German.

It is set in a magical forest where a dragon protects invaluable treasures. It’s a departure from the classic Book of… Egypt niche in terms of theme, but it retains most of the features these slots offer.

The slot has only 5 paylines and a 5×3 setup with a rather classic math model. It’s a medium variance game with the RTP set at 95.11%. The math model pays pretty frequently, either by lining up matching symbols or with the special expanders.

Don’t let the 5 paylines fool you. This is still a high-paying slot game with plenty of surprises. It is suitable for all kinds of players with a wide range of bets that goes between €0.05 and €100 per spin.

Game Features

Like with most Book of… slots, this isn’t a game that impresses with a variety of features. Still, it has a few aces in its sleeve that can deliver the big bucks. The base game doesn’t feature Rolling Reels, tumbles, or any other special mechanic. It works on a good ol’ math model, but that doesn’t make it sloppy in any way.

Wins are formed from left to right for three or more matching symbols. Wilds can step in and complete winning combinations, substituting for missing symbols in winning combinations. This game is all about the bonus round which is triggered by three or more Scatters.

As with other Book of… slots, expanding Wilds are key to big wins in the free spins round. But, there is a twist here. Before the round begins after landing three of the famed books, you’re presented with a choice. You can choose one of two features – either an Expanding Lucky symbol at random or an Expanding Wild.

Which one’s better? Well, there’s no way to tell. What we do know is that expanders can be pretty cool if you’re lucky enough to land many of them. Whether it’s the Lucky symbol or a Wild, the more you land, the bigger the wins.
