Grizzly Stampede is a high-volatility wildlife slot from ELK Studios, built around transforming bear symbols, expanding reels and potentially powerful Wild multipliers. The game takes place across a 5×4 grid with 1,024 ways to win, while the maximum payout reaches an imposing 50,000x the bet.

The setting takes players into a rugged wilderness populated by grizzly bears, wolves, eagles, cougars and moose. Although wildlife themes are relatively conventional compared with some of ELK Studios’ more eccentric creations, supernatural effects and the mysterious Totem mechanic give the game a slightly darker personality.

Multiplier Wilds

When a Wild participates in a win, it may reveal a multiplier between x2 and x5. During free spins, participating Wilds are guaranteed to reveal a multiplier.

The more interesting part is what happens when several Wilds contribute to the same combination. Rather than simply adding their values together, the multipliers are multiplied by one another. For example, an x3 Wild and x5 Wild participating in the same winning combination could produce a combined x15 multiplier.

Stampede Feature

The Stampede is one of the game’s central transformation mechanics. Landing two Stampede symbols on the same horizontal row activates the feature. The two triggering positions and the symbols situated between them are converted into Grizzly symbols.

A stronger Super Stampede can add even more Grizzlies to the grid. The mechanic can therefore transform an otherwise unremarkable reel arrangement into a much stronger concentration of premium bear symbols.

Stampedes behave differently during free spins, where their transformations interact with Golden Grizzlies, expanded reels and the bonus progression system.

Totem Feature

Landing a single Stampede symbol isn’t necessarily wasted. Instead, its energy is transferred to the Totem pole, gradually charging the feature.

The Totem can then activate on a future spin and release the Grizzly Spirit, which places additional Stampede symbols onto the reels before they finish spinning. This provides another route into the game’s bear transformations without requiring two Stampede symbols to land naturally on the same row.

Grizzly Stampede Free Spins

Landing 3, 4 or 5 Scatter symbols triggers:

• 5 Scatters – 12 Free Spins

The feature can also be retriggered. Landing 2, 3, 4 or 5 additional Scatters during the bonus awards another 3, 6, 9 or 12 spins, respectively. More importantly, each reel receives its own token meter during free spins.

Golden Grizzly symbols provide the tokens needed to develop these meters and progressively upgrade the bonus.

Golden Grizzlies and Reel Expansion

Every Golden Grizzly that lands adds a token to the meter belonging to its reel. Reels 1, 2, 4 and 5 require three tokens to complete their respective meters.

Completing one of these meters:

• Expands that reel from 4 to 6 rows.
• Converts its associated premium animal symbol into a Grizzly for the remainder of the feature.

From that point onwards, Golden Grizzlies are replaced by Golden Raging Grizzlies, while subsequent Stampede transformations can create additional Raging Grizzly symbols.

Super Free Spins

Grizzly Stampede also includes an enhanced version of its bonus. The Super Bonus is triggered when one of the Scatters responsible for activating free spins is a Super Scatter appearing on the rightmost reel.

Before the first spin begins, additional tokens are awarded. These tokens can immediately contribute towards reel progression or provide additional free spins, giving the Super Bonus a head start compared with the standard feature.
