Book Of Spells Slot Review – Demo, RTP & Features

Book Of Spells is a Book of slot by popular slot studio Zillion Games. If you’re an experienced slot player, you probably know what to expect out of Book of… slots.

They’re almost always based on ancient Egypt, with expanding symbols in the bonus round. While the Book of Spells slot doesn’t stray too far from that path, it does introduce some welcome changes.

First and foremost, it’s not based on ancient Egypt. It does feature a book of spells, but ones that might enchant you. It’s a slot based on a magician and his famed book that’s the source of his ungodly powers.

Second, the slot does have a free spins round with expanders, but also comes with something extra. It has a Hold & Win feature triggered by arcane orbs and jackpot medallions, which plays out like a standard respins round with great winning potential.

Game Features

Book of Spells plays out on a 5×3 grid with all kinds of magical symbols on the reels. You’ll see mysterious potions and all kinds of scrolls, as well as the famed book of spells roaming the reels. The grid is watched over by an enchanting white owl, who looks over at the action from the left.

The slot has 20 fixed pay-lines to win across. Wins are formed for three or more matching symbols on the reels from the left to the right. In addition to the standard symbols, you can see arcane odds and medallion jackpots landing on the grid. These aren’t there just for show, but play a special role in one of the features.

The magician is the expanding wild, active straight from the base game. When it comes to features, there are two – a Hold & Win bonus game and a free spins round.

The free spins bonus is triggered by three or more book symbols. You receive 8 free games to start with. During the feature, the magician gains new powers. He can expand on the reel just like in the base game, except this time, it doubles all wins he’s part of. The wild also substitutes for other symbols except for scatters, orbs, and jackpot medallions.

Arcane orbs land with cash prizes between 1x and 10x. You need a combination of 6 orbs and jackpot medallions to trigger the Hold & Win bonus. It plays like a regular streak respins round, with three respins to start with.

During this feature, players can win cash prizes or one of the jackpots. The Mini, Major, and Mega jackpots pay 50x, 150x, and 500x, respectively.
