Game Features

Tortuga Codex slot machine has a few interesting features, including an additional reel on top, wilds, scatters, and a symbol substitution feature in the bonus round.

Wins are formed for three or more matching symbols on a payline. Wilds can step in and complete winning combinations. During the base game, wilds, pirates, and numbers can appear on it.

The WILD can scatter a random number of wilds if there’s a scatter beneath it. During the bonus feature, it’s replaced by the number 9. The three pirates can replace any of the minor symbols (card royals) if a scatter is below them. During the bonus feature, the scatter is replaced by numbers 8, 7, and 6, respectively.

A chest symbol can also appear on the reels, carrying a random value. This only happens if there’s a scatter beneath it. During the bonus round, it’s replaced by a 5.

Coins also carry cash values up to 10x the bet. In the bonus round, coins are replaced by the number 4.

Three or more scatters will trigger the bonus round. The feature begins with additional rows unlocked. Players should choose one of the chests, which contain a + or a multiplier sign. Plus signs open the numbers in open cells, while the X multipliers open up the multipliers.

The bonus ends if there are no active rows with chests, or if the bonus symbol or end symbol appear.
