Sphinx slot - Free Play - Game Review

Sphinx is a popular video slot from Spielo - a subsidiary company of GTECH - one of the world’s largest and most prominent developers of games for the online gambling market - and in this review, we’re going to take a look at what the game has to offer.

Now, as you can probably imagine, Sphinx is themed all around - yep, you guessed it. Ancient Egypt.

The game uses a 9-payline format, making the slotting experience a volatile one - and you can choose to spin the slot from as little as 9p per spin, with the maximum spin set at around £60.

(The reason we say ‘around’, is because all online casinos choose to set their games with different maximum betting limits, to help minimise their exposure to risk.)

The slot is expertly-designed, and you’ll see a fantastic backdrop, featuring an array of Pyramids, Statues, and - of course, great sand plains.

Symbols on the reels are all game specific, and include an Anubis, a Pharaoh, a Crook and Flail, and the Pyramid of Giza.

The wild symbol within the game is the burial mask of Tutankhamun, and this substitutes for ALL other symbols within the game, bar the golden coin symbol, which doubles up as the game’s scatter symbol.

Land 3, 4, or 5 of the scatter symbols anywhere in view and you’ll trigger the slot’s bonus round, which is a “Pick me Bonus”.

You’ll then be taken to a new game screen, where you’ll see various tombs - presumably, at this point, you’re deep inside a pyramid.

Now, you simply pick from the tombs that appear on your screen, and each pick awards a random cash prize, ranging between 1X, and 100X your stake - and you get to continue picking, until you reveal an empty tomb.

Pros: Sphinx is well-designed, easy-to-play, and enjoyable - what more could you want from a video slot!

Cons: The lack of a free-spins bonus round will be a turn-off to players in search of endless spins.
