Roman Empire slot - Free Play - Game Review

Roman Empire
Roman Empire Rated 0/5 based on 0 votes

The Roman Empire is one of the greatest civilisations in human history - and you don’t need to be a history buff to know that the empire held power for hundreds of years, with notable names like Alexander the Great cementing their legacy in this fiercely-violent yet intuitive society.

Roman Empire - the video slot, from a game developer known as Spielo - aims to pay tribute to this great civilisation, and while it’s far from being the first Roman-themed video slot we’ve seen… it’s fair to say that it’s one of the better-made ones we’ve seen in a while, and within this review, you’ll see exactly why it’s become such a hit slot with players around the world.

Symbols present on the reels are well-varied, and include both the low-value playing card values, which we’ve become used to seeing, alongside the higher-value symbols, which are all game specific, and include the Torch, a Marble Statue, an Amphora and Cup, and a bag of Gold Coins.

Roman Empire comes with just the one bonus round, and this takes the form of a free-spins bonus.

In order to trigger the free-spins round, you simply need to land 3, 4, or 5 of the scatter symbols anywhere in view and once you’ve done so, you’ll be awarded either 10, 15, or 20 free-spins respectively.

During the free-spins, all wins are subject to a 3X multiplier - and this gives great potential for bigger wins.

There’s no sticky wilds, or higher multipliers available, as we’ve seen in some other Spielo slots, but you can re-trigger the free-spins, by landing yet another 3, 4, or 5 of the scatter symbols anywhere in view. Doing so awards another 10, 15, or 20 free-spins, and you can re-trigger the free-spins indefinitely.

Pros: Roman Empire showcases an impressive design, and makes gameplay fun, exciting, and enjoyable.

Cons: The slot takes a while to spin, so it’s not best-suited for players looking for non-stop action.
