Rage to Riches slot - Free Play - Game Review
Rage to Riches is a monster-themed slot from Play 'n Go, and right from the offset, you’ll see that the game developer have put in a lot of time, effort, and creative energy into building the game in a way that players will almost certainly enjoy.
It’s kind of got a Godzilla-like feel to it, while also incorporating Oriental elements… and combined, these make for highly-exciting gaming dynamics that you can take advantage of to enjoy a hassle-free and action-packed slotting experience!
The game itself is built using a 5-reel format, and there are 3 rows and 25 fixed paylines. This format has become somewhat commonplace from Play 'n Go, and it’s the format that many players have grown to love. Still, Play 'n Go have managed to add their own unique take to Rage to Riches, and you’ll see in this review why it’s enjoyed by so many players across the world.
First off, let’s take a look at the symbols found on the reels.
The first symbols you’ll notice are the lower-paying ones, which are represented by traditional playing card symbols, including Ten, Jack, Queen, King, and Ace.
The higher-paying symbols include a selection of monsters, coloured Brown, Green, and Grey.
The Rage to Riches symbol itself is the game’s wild symbol, and this substitutes for all other symbols, bar the scatter symbol, which is respected by an attractive girl blowing her hair with a hairdryer. Why, we don’t know!
There’s a ton going on in terms of the bonuses found inside Rage to Riches, and the first is the free-spins.
This is triggered by landing three, four, or five of the scatter symbols we just talked about, and once you’ve managed to do so you’ll be awarded an initial 10 free-spins. (We say initially, because it’s actually possible to win up to 50 in total, thanks to re-triggers and what not.)
Each spin offers a guaranteed win, with any additional scatter symbols adding two more spins to your tally – and this means the game plays out in a similar fashion to, say, Pimped; another highly-popular Play 'n Go title.
The second bonus-round to look for is the Bonus Game, and in the base game you’ll see that there’s space above each reel for five stars.
Any time you land one of the traditional playing card symbols, including Ten, Jack, Queen, King, and Ace, you’ll see that the star metre fills up when landing a win, and this then adds a star. Light all 5 stars to trigger the bonus-round; you’ll then be taken to a new game-screen, where you’ll see a monster and a house. It’s essentially a "Pick Me Bonus”, and the further you get, before the monster destroys the building, means you win more money.
You can win up to 100X here, so it’s a pretty decent bonus-round given how easy it is to trigger it.
Pros: Rage to Riches may have a strange theme, but the regular – and exciting – bonuses make for exciting gameplay, on every spin!
Cons: The low-volatility of the slot means it won’t appeal as much to players in search of bigger wins.
