Immortal Romance slot - Free Play - Game Review

Immortal Romance
Immortal Romance Rated 4.5/5 based on 25 votes

If there’s a theme we’ve seen (successfully) implemented regularly by video slot developers, it’s vampires…

And Immortal RomanceMicrogaming’s Twilight-themed slot – delivers all the goods in an exciting and enjoyable gaming experience. In this review, we look a little bit at what the slot has to offer – and we’ll begin by taking a look at the design of the game.

Now, the first thing you’ll notice that stands out, is the fact that the game uses a 243-ways-to-win format. This essentially eradicates the need for pay-lines and offers you the chance to make wins by landing just three or more symbols on consecutive reels from left-to-right.

Talking of the symbols within the game, you’ll see that Microgaming have opted to use traditional playing card symbols, including Ten, Jack, Queen, King, and Ace as the low-value symbols… but there’s also the inclusion of a 9, too.

The game’s higher-paying symbols include a variety of characters, and these go by the name of Sarah, Michael, Troy, and Amber. The scatter symbol in the game is represented by a gold door knocker, and the wild is simply a symbol with the word “wild” on it.

There’s a lot going on inside Immortal Romance, in terms of the features and bonuses, and the first thing to note is the wild desire bonus. This can trigger randomly on any spin, and when it lands, you’ll see anywhere from one to five reels turn completely wild, allowing for the chance of MASSIVE wins.

Now, the main bonus itself is triggered by landing three, four, or five of the scatter symbols, and if you manage to do so, you’ll enter the Chamber of Spins, which lets you pick one of four bonuses. First is Amber bonus, where you’ll get 10 free-spins, with all wins subject to a 5X multiplier.

Next up is the Troy bonus, which gives you 15 free-spins. During these free-spins, any wins you get see a bat fly onto the reels, who then places a 2X or 3X multiplier onto the reels, helping you to make bigger, and better wins.

The third bonus-round is the Michael bonus-round, and this gives you 20 free-spins, all of which feature Microgaming’s acclaimed Rolling Reels bonus.

Last but not least is the Sarah bonus, and this carries the Wild Vine bonus. This Wild Vine bonus adds a special wild symbol onto the third reel, and when it lands in view, it spits out wilds all over the screen, which can – technically speaking – cover the entire screen with wilds!

The free-spins can also be re-triggered, although the number of spins you get depends on which bonus you get; amber for example awards 10 more spins for a re-trigger, while Sarah awards just 4.

Pros: A great selection of bonuses ensures that gameplay – even in the base-game – is fun, exciting, and filled with nail-biting!

Cons: The slot plays out quite “streak-ily”, so expect some periods where you don’t see much in the way of wins.
