Hot Ink slot - Free Play - Game Review
Tattooing isn’t something we’ve seen built into online video slots – and in actuality, it’s pretty hard to find a game themed around tattoos! That’s not a problem, any longer though, thanks to Microgaming’s new release – Hot Ink – and inside this (you guessed it!) – tattooing-themed slot, you’ll be transported into the chair, with that prickly needle piercing your skin, with ink!
OK, all jokes aside, Hot Ink is actually pretty well-built, and you’ll see right from the get-go that the game incorporates Microgaming’s high standards of development. High-definition graphics, an exciting musical soundtrack, and good win-potential helps to make the gameplay pretty exciting…
And there’s a ton of work gone into the game, most visible perhaps by looking at the symbols themselves.
Rather than filling the slot with traditional playing card symbols, including Ten, Jack, Queen, King, and Ace, like is so often the case with slots today, Microgaming have, instead, chosen to use game specific symbols, and these include a variety of common tattoos (Love Hearts, and text), and there’s also a Tattooist, a Tattoo Chair, and a couple of women, both we assume, are about to get “inked”!
There’s two bonuses to be on the lookout for in Hot Ink, and the first is the Tattoo Bonus game which is triggered by landing three of the “Tattoo Bonus” scatter symbols anywhere in view during the main, regular base-game. Once you manage to do so, you’ll be taken to a screen which displays three tattoo books.
Your job is simply to pick the books and hope they all reveal identical symbols. If they do, you’ll be awarded 10 free-spins, during which a 2X multiplier is applied to all wins…
And if the books reveal different symbols, all’s not lost, because you still get a coin win for each symbol revealed.
Now, while we mentioned free-spins, it’s worth pointing out that’s not the main free-spins bonus, and to get the “proper” feature, you need to land three, four, or five of the Koi Fish scatter symbols anywhere in view in the main base-game. Doing so awards you with 20 free-spins, and during the spin, all wins are subject to a 2X multiplier.
OK, so not the best, in terms of creativity, but it IS possible to re-trigger the free-spins, which is always a perk!
Pros: A unique and rarely-seen theme helps to make Hot Ink desirable, and fun to play!
Cons: The game’s quite volatile, so you should expect periods where you don’t win much!
