Halloween slot - Free Play - Game Review

Halloween
Halloween Rated 5/5 based on 1 votes

Halloween is a popular video slot from Microgaming, based – of course upon the horror film of the same name – and if you’ve yet to check out the game, you’d do well to do so, as it offers exciting gameplay, fun bonuses, and a TON of different randomly-triggered bonuses in the base-game, making for an exciting and action-packed gaming experience.

The film Halloween was first created by Michael Myers, and if you’ve not seen it check it out – it’s a little scary, yes – but the storey line and plot is fantastic… which is one of the reasons it’s become such a popular movie in the cult of horror films!

The game itself from Microgaming incorporates just the same levels of quality, and you’ll see a variety of symbols placed on the reels, including Laurie Loomis and Annie – all characters from the film. These females are, of course, the game’s higher-paying symbols.

The lower-paying symbols take the form of a Knife, a Mask, a Telephone, a Book, and a set of Needles and Wool.

You’ll also see a Pumpkin symbol on the reels, and this is the game’s wild. This wild substitutes for ALL other wins within the game, and helps you make wins far-easier.

There’s a couple of things going on in Halloween in terms of the bonuses and features offered, and the first is the Wandering Reels feature.

You’ll see that the game’s reel set is set against a creepy house, and take a look at the porch, and you’ll notice that it moves to cover three reels per spin. This changes the pay-line structure, meaning it’s easier to land a full scene of one of the premium female symbols – and while it’s a little hard to get your head around, once you begin playing, you’ll see it in action for yourself.

Now, the Trick or Treat Bonus Wheel bonus is next up, and this is triggered by landing three, four, or five of the Red and Yellow Bonus scatter symbols anywhere in view during the main base-game. Once you manage to do so, you’ll enter the bonus wheel feature, which can award free spins, or a random prize.

If you hit the free-spins bonus-round, you’ll be awarded 9 free-spins, and depending on which type of free-spins you landed, you can benefit from stacked symbols, sticky wilds, and more – the free-spins are definitely where the money is, and they’re what you’ll want to aim for!

Overall, while Halloween offers a base-game that’s a little underwhelming, the free-spins bonus-round and the bonus wheel feature occur quite frequently, making for an ideal game for those who enjoy regular action, and games that don’t take thousands of spins to land the bonus.

Pros: A unique game mechanic system – the wandering reels – makes for interesting gameplay, and you’ll likely never have seen anything quite like this before!

Cons: While the bonus-round drops regularly, getting a big hit appears to be quite rare, so don’t expect to win more than 50X in most of the bonuses.
