Diamond Storm Slot Game Review
Diamond Storm is one of the only Aristocrat Gaming Technologies games to follow a “classic” Video Slot approach – on, in other words, it’s a little cliché and overdone.
However, while the initial prognosis doesn’t look good, Aristocrat Gaming Technologies have managed to bring about refreshing change with their new game, Diamond Storm, and they’ve managed to combine a classic and commonly-seen theme, with a modern-day vibe, that’s set to take players around the world by storm!
Diamond Storm uses 5 reels and has 30 pay lines, putting it in the “average” range, when it comes to Video Slot designs.
The main objective of the game – alongside having fun, of course – is to match up identical symbols from the left-hand side of the screen, to the right-hand side of the screen. The game only pays left to right, so don’t expect to get paid for winning combinations starting on the 5th reel, like Starburst does.
Now, when you begin playing the game, you’ll notice that 3-of-a-kind payouts are VERY common – much more so than other Video Slot games today – it’s the 4-of-a-kind and 5-of-a-kind payouts however that offer the big bucks, and as such, they’re pretty hard to land – although when you do, you get paid MASSIVELY, so it’s well-worth aiming for!
In terms of the symbols on offer, you won’t see any boring traditional playing card symbols, including 10, J (Jack), Q (Queen), K (King), and A (Ace) – instead, Diamond Storm uses specific imagery to delivery an optimal gaming experience, with Cherries, Bars, Sevens, and Bells making up the higher-paying symbols.
It’s interesting to note that there isn’t actually a bonus round within Diamond Storm, and you won’t find any free-spins or anything like that.
While that initially may sound like a disappointment, it serves a few purposes, and one of the first things it does it makes the base-game more profitable.
That’s because it doesn’t have to pool money up to pay out later in the bonus-rounds, and this ensures that – while it may not be quite as fun to play – the wins will be bigger, and after all, that’s what really counts, right?
Secondly, it makes the game straightforward. There’s no confusion over scatter symbols or anything like that – simply select the stake you want to bet, press the spin button, and cross your fingers – that’s all there is to it!
Pros: fun, exciting, and unique, Diamond Storm may not be the most intuitive of themes, but Aristocrat Gaming Technologies pull the game of fantastically!
Cons: The lack of free-spins or bonus-round may be a turn off for some players.
